WORKING FOR CHEESUS
On my design list of to-do’s: create at least one novelty product for retail sale by EOC (End Of Career). Lacking a precise vision of what that might be, the Mac Daddy C called to me one afternoon and I answered.
Packaging design experience and an understanding of private label manufacturing led me to seek a US company to give birth to (Mac &) Cheesus. After DIY trademark filing, I wished my pasta shapes “buon viaggio!,” for their trip to Italy where the dies were cast. Serious finger crossing occurred for the engineers, who completed the fabrication just prior to the summer holiday shutdown (the entire month of August+). While those were cooking, I completed the illustration and packaging design, including the content and backstory of Cheesus.
Philanthrocheese: the most important aspect of Mac & Cheesus. Part of the proceeds are donated to food pantries. Spreading the gospel of Cheesus is hands-up the most challenging and rewarding project I’ve produced and the most pun. Are you ready for your Come to Cheesus moment?
